Great Lakes Week 2013
Milwaukee, Wisconsin: September 9-12, 2013
Great Lakes Week is a collaborative effort to foster discussion about cutting-edge Great Lakes issues and elevating them amongst diverse stakeholders, including public officials, media and citizens. The gathering attracts close to 700 activists, government officials, business and industry leaders, tribal members, sportsmen, and academics. Participants share the common goal of restoring and protecting a resource that millions of people depend on for their drinking water, jobs, public health and way of life.
Over the past two years, Detroit Public Television has broadcast the week’s proceedings to millions of people in the region and around the country.
Great Lakes Week features the meetings and conferences of the Healing Our Waters-Great Lakes Coalition, Great Lakes Commission and International Joint Commission and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The week also includes the participation of groups such as the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative and Canadian federal environmental agencies participating in environmental protection and restoration.
Great Lakes Week will be held in Milwaukee, Wis., September 9-12.
